How I cope with depression

When I was younger, I didn’t know what depression meant. I remember being in high school and someone said they rated me a low score because I looked depressed. Honestly as I got older, I knew I had depression because I always felt sad and comparing my self to others. I cope with depression by trying to journal everyday and listen to music that can uplift me. Dealing with depression can be hard sometimes but I try to not give up. I try to remind myself that it’s a purpose being here and I tackle the rest of the day. When I was younger and being picked on, I used poetry to express myself and escape reality. I didn’t know people could get cruel until my classmates was calling me ugly and laughing at me. Although it was in the past, I try to not let things like that affect me at all.
